Ethics update

As we move towards commencing projects and baseline data collection, you may now be faced with some ethical considerations, especially if your project involves specific case studies of students or a very different way of working than normal classroom practice.

I have updated the consent-and-ethics-guidelines-01:2020 and produced two appendix sample letters at the end of the document suggesting ways of seeking informed consent from parents (and students). Please do not send out without discussion with either your Principal, VP or Phil.

The word document is quite lengthy with links to EU guidelines and best practice from Australia.

Note: there are no specific requirements for conducting research in Italian schools other than the permission of the Head of School. We have already informed the community and invited parents to participate but we still have best practice to consider and this means as a minimum gaining consent from participants, checking data for accuracy and informing them of outcomes.
